The Bryce Harlow Workshop on Ethics and Lobbying

Spend a couple of interesting Saturdays at American University and receive credit for exploring the legal, personal, and professional ethics of lobbying. Led by Jim Thurber, Distinguished Professor of Government and Director of the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies, students will analyze the transcendent issues of values, the law, conflicts of interest, the foundation of ethics, and the meaning of integrity in political advocacy. The tactics and strategies of lobbying are numerous and complex but accomplished and respected lobbyists realize that their careers will succeed only if conducted according to both the letter and the spirit of the laws and regulations affecting the lobbying activities they undertake.
